Phelps, Honora Johnson
Honora Johnson Phelps was born on February 16, 1903, in Okarche, Oklahoma, and died on January 26, 1994. She went to the University of California at Berkeley for her bachelor’s degree and later pursued her master of arts from the University of Oklahoma, where she first became connected with Alpha Phi Fraternity.

Honora worked as a supervisor of an aircraft plant in Midwest City during World War II. She had a long career with the Oklahoma State Department of Human Services, where she was employed for 42 years.

Honora was an involved alumna member, particularly  essential to the Oklahoma Alpha Phi House Association. She served as secretary for several years, recording meetings and delivering important information to alumnae. Honora was not the only Alpha Phi in her family: her sister Lucille Johnson Williamson was crucial to the founding of Phi Chapter, serving as faculty advisor.
