Florida State College for Women Established
In 1905, the Florida Legislature reorganizes the state's education system, combining several state institutions into the University of Florida at Gainesville for men and designating Florida State College as a women's school under the name Florida Female College. The name is changed again to Florida State College for Women in 1909.
