House Directors

By the 1990s, the term "housemother" was used less frequently, replaced by the more businesslike "house director." Nevertheless, Delta Mu Chapter employed a number of long-serving women in the role. Doris Blackwood (1991–1994), Jean Abare (1994–1997), and Stephanie Sincock (1997–2001) held the position in the 1990s. Linda Stern Doyle, a Delta Mu Chapter member initiated in 1970, returned to the chapter house in 2001 and held the job until 2013.

More recent house directors included Mary Martha Campbell, Cindy Porter, Brenda Aitken, Gwen Meriwether, and Kathleen Frindshuh. Each of these women, like the housemothers before them, helped shape the lives of hundreds of Delta Mu Chapter members.
