About
Alpha Phi Theta Chapter’s Digital Composite Archive is composed of digitized materials, enhanced metadata and advanced search tools in order to provide a space for the materials to be available for study, scholarship, and research.
Composite photographs allow for the study of the individuals pictured within and so much more. They serve as research tools that visually communicate the history of fraternal organizations, college culture, higher education, fashion, and material culture through a unique lens. When studied collectively, researchers and the public can not only easily identify trends in hairstyles, and clothing, but also fluctuations in the size and demographics of an organization relative to current events. They also can demonstrate the evolution of styles and technologies in photography, framing, mounting, and printing.
Permission to reuse, publish, or reproduce the composites beyond the bounds of Fair Use or other exemptions to copyright law must be obtained from the copyright holder. To request a reproduction, please contact the copyright holder.
