American Foster Parents' Plan for War Children
Beta Gamma Chapter found ways to give during the postwar years too. In the 1950s, the chapter took part in a philanthropy project sponsored by the American Foster Parents' Plan for War Children, an organization that supported children displaced in Europe during World War II. For a $15 monthly contribution, the child received aid in the form of food, clothing, or other basic needs. In return, the foster parents received a brief history and photograph of the child. Correspondence was encouraged through the Plan office, and Beta Gamma Chapter often received letters from their adoptees.
