Betsy Graham

Betsy Graham was the first woman to hold a housemother-type role for Delta Mu Chapter. From 1963–1964, Delta Mu's first year as a chapter, Betsy served as counselor for the young women. She had just graduated from DePauw University, where she was a member of Gamma Chapter, when she came to live with Delta Mu Chapter in Gables Courts. In a 2017 letter to the chapter, she reflected, "The first Delta Mu members were all very bright, very enthusiastic and quite delighted to be getting acquainted with each other and forming a brand new chapter of Alpha Phi. As I look at the composite, I find I remember each one of them, so if I sound like a proud 'mom,' that's because I was!"
